Graduation Information

Commencement Information

If you would like to participate in Commencement on Saturday, May 16, 2026, please choose a ceremony preference when placing your order. You must purchase a gown, cap, and tassel set to participate in the ceremony unless otherwise approved. You will be emailed your confirmed ceremony time and the ticket download information on April 17. The confirmation will be sent to your student email.

You keep the cap, gown, and tassel. Financial Aid will not apply. Orders must be submitted with the student's @student.waubonsee.edu email address in order to receive order confirmation and notifications.

Cap, gown, and tassel orders can not be shipped. These orders are pre-orders and will be available for pickup at the Commencement Expo on May 12, 2026 ONLY at the Sugar Grove Campus.


Deadlines

Avoid late fees - order by Monday, April 20! Orders after April 20, 2026 will be charged a $10.00 late fee.

Beginning April 21, candidates must fill out a Late Participation Application at the Academic, Career and Transfer Advising office, Student Center, Second Floor, Sugar Grove Campus IN PERSON. Online orders are no longer available. The form will then need to be taken to the Bookstore so your payment can be processed. Cap, gown, and tassel quantities will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you need a sign language interpreter or an accommodation, please make sure to select the option located in the Sign Language Accommodation of the cap, gown, and tassel order form. If you would like to purchase an additional graduation tassel, please select extra graduation tassel. If you are eligible for an honors tassel, you may choose to order an honors tassel.

For cap sizes: Place a tape measure around your head about one inch above your ears. Check the following scale:

  • 23 - 26.5 inches = One Size Fits All Cap
  • 26.5 inches and up = XXL Cap
